Steep Learning Curve in 2015

2015 is coming to an end. Thus, we would like to review this year’s autumn semester of the Fachschaft Wirtschaft Olten (FWO).

In the beginning of the semester we joyfully observed how popular the FWO has become among the first year students at the School of Business. Through numerous new members from different parts of the university, the FWO has grown to the largest Fachschaft within the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland.

The first major step was the launch of the FWO website. Rooted on www.fwolten.ch, one can find comprehensive information about our activities, our vision and our shop. Looking at the organisation’s history, having a platform which united all teams stands for a milestone in the FWO’s timeline.

In addition, through excellent work from Haris and his team, the FWO has been able to offer t-shirts, pullovers and other gadgets to our students. Also at the Event Team, which is led by Patrizia and Amanda, things moved forward. Through their wide-spread network in the bar and event scene in Olten, well organised pub tours as well as the prestigious semester apéro, have become students’ duty to attend. Additional must-go events are the monthly student parties at Terminus.

Furthermore, supporting activities such as Rigzin’s PR Team or Loic’s Care Team have elaborated new concepts which promote progression and dynamism at the Fachschaft Wirtschaft Olten.

Also, through heavy engagement of Theo, a wide range of activities could be offered to our international students in order to further improve their stay in Switzerland.

With excitement we look towards 2016 and hope to find new ways to make your study experience even more worthwhile in Olten.

Ideas such as the launch of an Investment Club, the introduction for new items for our shop or a study trip to Eastern Europe are in the FWO’s pipeline and will be communicated in a timely manner.

Last but not least, we would like to express a warm “Thank you” to each and every one who has helped the FWO to become what it is today.

We wish you all the best for 2016 and look forward to seeing you soon.
